4.01 is HTML not XHTML. I always use strict but to decide what you want to use look at this article.

Link

thanks, dont know why i added 4.01  after reading that link i'll stay with 1.0 strict

You should use HTML 4.01 if you want to be using the riight standard really, since your website isn't an XML file :)

grrr - just done two pages to be xhtml and i got the little badges :( mind you with the clean up of code it wants you might be right.

I'll sleep on it

All the pages I build are valid XHTML 1.1 strict, mainly to make IE less painful to deal with when it comes to CSS. Mind you, I am developing for IE 7 and up, IE 6 is a pain I will NEVER deal with again.

Hey EP! All good with me, applying for Microsoft MVP right now, should have done this a while ago.

Notifications don't work, I only found your response by coming back to hunt up some threads, if you want, give me your email address so we can keep in touch easier!

EP, glad to see you come back and tidy up...did want to ask a one day favor, I want to enhance my resume , was hoping you could make me administrator for a day, if so, take me right off since I won't be here to do anything, and don't know the slightest about the board, but it would be nice putting "served administrator osnn", if can do, THANKS

Been running around Quora lately, luv it there!
